THROUGH
THE EYE OF A DUTCH NEEDLE
An
exhibition of Dutch and Dutch-Australian needlework
Do you want to take part in an exhibition to be
held in the headquarters of the Embroiderers Guild of NSW Inc. of Dutch and
Dutch Australian needlework?
The Guild has invited
the Dutch Community, through the Dutch Australian Cultural Centre Ltd., to
organise the Òroom displayÓ in their premises in Concord West from OCTOBER 1
till OCTOBER 22, 2010.
For the display we
look at as much and wide participation as possible from both women and men.
Both, because men may not be embroiderers, but they may have inherited items
made by mothers, aunts or other family members.
Although the emphasis
will be on embroideries and especially household linens and hand-monogrammed
trousseau items, antique or older articles inherited from parents or
grandparents are very welcome. Items like quilts and hand-made clothing are of
course included.
Have a look at your
possessions and let us know what you want to display.
Ring me at 02 9976 5052
(all calls will be answered and/or returned) or send an e-mail to
mijntje@bigpond.com for further information.
You will be informed
about Guild rules and procedures later. Please pass this message on.
ALL CARE WILL BE
TAKEN, BUT NO RESPONSIBILITY.
